NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is the funding route most families have never heard of. Where someone’s needs are primarily health needs, the NHS can fund the whole care package — assessed on needs, not savings. Families are rarely told about it, the assessment process is a maze, and the difference it makes can be life-changing.
So we wrote it down, in plain English: what CHC is, who qualifies, how the assessment works, what “primary health need” actually means, the fast-track route, and what to do if the answer is no.
